XMA: Mover cannot be started - no saveabends and no EMS errors

Check to make sure that the name of the object program for the XMA pathmon  process, (e.g. $XMA) is PATHMON,usually $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.PATHMON.  This is because XMA relies on the program name to identify a process a being a pathway process.  Any XMA serverclass (mover) in a pathway environment with an object of other than PATHMON will fail on startup with a message similar to the following VHS error:

08:49 09JUL21 009,00,833 VHS1:
               Usage : \xxxxxx.$system.xygatema.emsmove <GUARDIAN|CHECKFILTERS
[filters file]>. Display text received from process $Z2DH.
Program file \xxxxx.$SYSTEM.XYGATEMA.EMSMOVE. Primary log file
               \xxxxxx.$SYSTEM.VHLU001.LOG0712.

To check the object program for the XMA pathmon process:

1. From a TACL, enter "STATUS $XMA" .  If the name of the XMA pathway system is something other than $XMA, please substitute that process name.

SEE:

System \xxxxxxx

Process                 Pr i PFR %WT  Userid      Program file               Hometerm
$XMA        0,1092   99          001   253,1        $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.PATHMON     $VHS
                                     Swap File Name        $SYSTEM.#0
Current Extended Swap File Name:        $SYSTEM.#0
$XMA     B  1,1150  99          001   253,1        $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.PATHMON     $VHS
                                    Swap File Name       : $SYSTEM.#0
Current Extended Swap File Name       : $SYSTEM.#0

In the above example, the program file name is $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.PATHMON, which is normal.

System \xxxxxxx

Process                 Pr i PFR %WT  Userid      Program file               Hometerm
$XMA        0,1092   99          001   253,1        $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.PATHMONO     $VHS
                                     Swap File Name        $SYSTEM.#0
Current Extended Swap File Name:        $SYSTEM.#0
$XMA     B  1,1150  99          001   253,1        $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.PATHMONO     $VHS
                                    Swap File Name       : $SYSTEM.#0
Current Extended Swap File Name       : $SYSTEM.#0

In this example, the program name is $SYSTEM.SYSTEM.PATHMONO,  which will cause an XMA mover to fail on startup
