XMA How To Change Ownership On The Existing Installation

The following methods are available to change the ownership of an XMA environment.

Method #1     -     Re-Install XMA
Procedure:
Refer to Chapter 1 " Installing XMA " in the XYGATE Merged Audit (XMA), User's Guide and Reference Manual


Method #2     -     PAK/UNINSTALL/UNPAK
Procedure:
Initial setup
Backup all files/objects before attempting this to minimize damage and/or data loss if this operation does not work for any reason.  The following steps should happen as the CURRENT owner of XMA:

TACL> LOGON <XMA Owner>
TACL> VOLUME <XMA Installation Volume/Subvolume>
TACL> XMA INSTALL

Shutdown XMA pathway

TACL> XMA_PWSTOP  

PAK XMA subvolumes

TACL> PAK -EXT <Extent Size>, <PAK File>,&
(<XMA Install Subvolume>.*,<XMA SQL Catablog Subvolume>.*,<XMA Database Subvolume>.*,<XMA Pathway Subvolume>.*),&
LISTALL,AUDITED,SQLCATALOGS ON


example:

PAK /OUT $S.#PURGE.XMAPAK/ -EXT 5000, $SYSTEM.XMABACK.XMAPAK,&
($SYSTEM.XYGATEMA.*,SYSTEM.XMACAT.*,$SYSTEM.XMADAT.*,$SYSTEM.XMAPW.*),&
LISTALL,AUDITED,SQLCATALOGS ON


Uninstall XMA

TACL> XMA_UNINSTALL

Option 2:  Uninstall All

Reinstall as new user.

TACL> LOGON <new owner id>
TACL> VOLUME <XMA Distribution Volume/Subvol>
TACL> RUN INSTALL
TACL> LOGON SUPER.SUPER
TACL> XMA_FINISH_INSTALL
TACL> LOGON <new owner id>
TACL> XMA_MANAGER

 


 

 



 

Step 1 ? Stop XMA

(This effort will go much more smoothly if everything is stopped)
 
1> RUN $VOL.XYGATEMA.XMA
2> XMA_PWSTOP
PAK /OUT $S.#PURGE.XMAPAK/ -EXT 5000, $VOL.XMABACK.XMAPAK,&
($VOL.XYGATEMA.*,$VOL.XMACAT.*,$VOL.XMADAT.*,$VOL.XMAPW.*),&
LISTALL,AUDITED,SQLCATALOGS ON

Step 2 ? PAK everything

(For safety and space)

3> PAK /OUT $S.#PURGE.XMAPAK/ -EXT 5000, $VOL.XMABACK.XMAPAK,&
($VOL.XYGATEMA.*,$VOL.XMACAT.*,$VOL.XMADAT.*,$VOL.XMAPW.*),&
LISTALL,AUDITED,SQLCATALOGS ON

Step 3 ? Uninstall the current instance of XMA

(We are going to re-install XMA as the new owner)

4> XMA_UNINSTALL

Step 4 ? Reinstall XMA as the NEW owner

(Same location as the old instance, but as the new owner.  Don?t forget to finish the install as SUPER.SUPER and run the XMA_MANAGER the first time to create the new catalog and database)

5> LOGON <new owner id>
6> RUN $VOL.P28DSDST.INSTALL
7> LOGON SUPER.SUPER
8> XMA_FINISH_INSTALL
8a> REMFIN  ß XMA will request ONLY if there are any remote MOVERs configured.
9> LOGON <new owner id>
10> XMA_MANAGER

Step 5 ? UNPAK the old database and Pathway configuration

(This restores the old data as the new owner)

11> UNPAK $VOL.XMABACK.XMAPAK, &
($VOL.XMAPW.*,$VOL.XMADAT),LISTALL,MYID,AUDITED,PURGE

Step 6 ? Edit the Pathway configuration to change the owner

(Simple, but necessary)

12> EDIT $VOL.XMAPW.PWCONFIG; CAB /<old owner>/<new owner>/ a; EXIT;
13> EDIT $VOL.XMAPW.PWSTATE ; CAB /<old owner>/<new owner>/ a; EXIT;
14> EDIT $VOL.XMAPW.PWSTABAK; CAB /<old owner>/<new owner>/ a; EXIT;

Step 7 ? Update database statistics and recompile programs

(NECESSARY step)

15> XMA_SQLCOMPALL

Step 8 ? Cold start the Pathway


16> RUN $VOL.XYGATEMA.XMA
17> XMA_PWCOLD



Method #3     -     Edit Configuration Files and resecure SQL Indexes/Tables

Procedure:
NOTE:  <new owner> and <old owner> = GROUP#.USER#

Initial Setup  
TACL> Logon Super.Super or <old owner>
TACL> Volume <XMA Installation>
TACL> RUN XMA Install
TACL> XMA_LOAD_DEFINES

Shutdown XMA Pathway

 
TACL> XMA_MANAGER
                Shutdown Pathway

Edit Configuration Files.

TACL> XMA_LOAD_DEFINES
TACL> XMA_Volume
TACL> XMA_PWVOLUME
TACL> fup give *,<new owner>
TACL> edit pwstate;cab /<old owner>/<new owner>/a;exit
TACL> edit pwstabak;cab /<old owner>/<new owner>/a;exit
TACL> edit pwconfig;cab /<old owner>/<new owner>/a;exit

Change file ownership

TACL> XMA_FINISH_INSTALL

Restart as new user.

TACL> Logon <new owner>
TACL> Volume <XMA Subvolume>
TACL> RUN XMA INSTALL
TACL> XMA_MANAGER
      Start Pathway.
