XYGATE: S-Series software support.
As of 30 Sept 2015, all S-series hardware will be at EOSL (End of Support Life), and by the end of this year, all G-series OS versions will be obsolete. HP product management has decided that no support will be coming from HP product or engineering organizations for these platforms and OSes after that time.
The only exception to this: some customers may be offered LIMITED support by the TS organization. LIMITED support means that defects are analyzed, and support will provide existing fixes and workarounds. No code changes will be made. This is because that teams who might have made those changes have moved onto new projects, and the HP hardware they might have used has now been decommissioned.
XYPRO as a HP Nonstop ISV, our standard support policy states that we will support hardware and software versions supported by HP. Given HP?s decision to provide LIMITED support to some customers, and the fact that we have some customers with existing maintenance agreements for S-series, we?ve decided to transition any existing S-series customers to Extended Support at the end of this year, and provide them with the same LIMITED support that HP provides in those circumstances. So, that will mean any customer issues will be analyzed by our support team, with assistance provided in the form of workarounds or existing fixes. No code changes will be made to S-series product releases from that point onwards.?
We have also discussed the FSS needs, and given that FSS is moving to the new NS platform within the next 12 months. We have decided that we would support your needs on the current S series servers, based on the limited support mode stated above. This is of course subject to FSS review and evaluation, FSS needs to determine whether this limited support mode is acceptable.
Please be advised that known security vulnerabilities exist in the S series versions of the software that can only be remediated by upgrading to newer versions, which are no longer available for the S Series hardware. Therefore XYPRO cannot guarantee the security of products installed and maintained on the S series. By continuing maintenance on S series, you indemnify XYPRO from all security related concerns and incidents that may occur on the S-series hardware.
