XS1 - Upgrading from Version 1.90 to Version 1.97
Please review this entire KB before starting any upgrade from XS1 v1.90 to release 1.97.
1. Review the document "XS1 v1.97 Installation and Set Up Guide. It contains a section, "Upgrading from
XS1 1.90 to 1.97" that contains steps to follow when migrating directly from version 1.90 to 1.97. This
document can be downloaded from the Customer Care Portal/XYPRO Software Downloads/Other Helpful Documents area of the XYPRO website.
2. The ?Hardware Requirements? section of the document should also be reviewed for any changes (from
previous versions) before beginning the upgrade
3. If you are licensed for the ASM feature (now available in version 1.97, but not in 1.90), the upgrade section
directs the reader to another section of the manual (ASM ? Kafka Installation and Configuration) to install Kafka
and ASM, so this section should also be reviewed before beginning the upgrade.
4. Following the upgrade, do not restart the services even though the status as shown in the app for two of them
(Compliance and Intelligence) will show DOWN (though they are actually up). This is because there is a
migration process occurring in the background that takes some time to finish. If the services are restarted
during that period, they may generate error messages, so do not attempt to start them ? wait for the migration
process to complete.
