XS1: No Alerts or Monitors not running? - 5 Quick Troubleshooting Steps To Try
The steps below are ordered in a way to solve the issue. If the first step does not help go to the next and so on. If you get through all five steps and the issue persists, please open a support ticket and we will be happy to help you.
1) On the application: navigate to the top right corner of the screen and click your name, then click on System Status
1a) Ensure that all Modules are UP and all Hosts have the XTR Status is UP and all XMA are Receiving
2) Log onto the Application server that hosts the XS1 application.
Bring up the Windows Services monitor (Refresh the page if necessary) and verify that the ActiveMQ and all XYGATE SecurityOne services are still Running. If one of them is not, you should start the service by highlighting the service and clicking Start.
3) On the app server: Check the memory utilization of the XS1 Binaries (known to the system as OpenJDK Platform binary) to ensure none are unusually high. (over 4,500MB in use) If one is abnormally high, end that task and see which service stops running. Restart that service and see if this clears the problem.
4) On the app server: Open ActiveMQ in a web browser (URL: localhost:8161/admin) and log in with the credentials you set up during installation (the default username is XS1.activemq)
Navigate to the Queues option and verify the number of Pending messages is 0. If it is not zero, bounce the ActiveMQ service and see if the number of Dequeued messages starts rising again.
5) On the Nonstop: Check to verify all your XMA movers are up and running.
Other considerations we often see:
1) Have any new firewalls, rules or networks been established between your NonStop and the XS1 application environment? Have you checked your firewall settings on your Application server to verify it is allowing messages in on the specified port?
2) Have any password changes occurred on the privileged accounts that managed XS1 on the Nonstop, Application Server, or SQL server password (*if windows authentication is used)?
