XMA: Movers configured by the Discover process - can I prevent the Discover process from adding them to XMA?
Note: Please see Chapter 8, Configuring Movers in the XMA manual for more information regarding configuring movers.
The Discover option of XMA_MANAGER will locate all the XYGATE products on the NonStop server as well as Safeguard, EMS, BASE24, and MEASURE. It will configure the MOVER settings and present them to you in an edit file, referred to as the ?command file.? The name of this "command file" is provided by the user as part of the Discovery process. The file can be edited to select which MOVERs are to be created or to add more MOVERs for product subvolumes that might have different conventions.
The Discovery process will ask the user whether they want to edit the command file once it has been built. This step is done before the movers are added to the XMA pathway configuration:
=============================================================
Example:
Please examine MOVER addition commands that have
been set up in the file NEWMVR.
Enter 't' to go into tedit, CTRL-Y to exit the editor.
TEXT EDITOR - T9601D20 - (01JUN93)
CURRENT FILE IS
$DATAB.XYGATEMA.NEWMVR
*
Enter Y to add movers enter N to save newmove to run at a later date. <Y>->
==============================================================
The above example assumes a command file called NEWMVR was created. To prevent the mover from being added by the Discovery process, the value associated with the keyword INSTALL should be set to N for the MOVERPRODUCT name. The value should be set to Y if the mover should be added.
