SQLX: Will an SQLXpress 3.70 client work with an SQLXpress 3.80 server or vice-versa?

As of SQLXpress 3.70, both the client and server must be upgraded to the same version at the same time if upgrading from a release prior to v3.70 to v3.70 or later.  This is because both use a new network communication protocol that allows for improved support for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA). 

A v3.70 client will work with a v3.80 server and vice-versa, but is not recommended for long-term use.  This is because newer functions would not be supported in such a hybrid environment.
